How many new ongoing Japanese dramas are you watching
recently? I got around 5, and some are still stored in my flash disc. Lol.
Among those new dramas that I’ve written here, 5 is just like a peck of dust. Lol.
Well, frankly speaking, among those ongoing dramas, this series is the most
anticipated drama. Why? Of course it’s because of MASAKI SUDA!!!! He is the selling point of this drama. Watching him
acting gives me eyegasm. π€£π€£π€£
OK, to make my impression short, let me review a little
about this drama. Ibuki Hiiragi (Masaki Suda) is an art teacher He started
teaching in the school two years ago. He is the homeroom teacher of 3rd
Grade A Class. 10 days before graduation day, Ibuki Hiiragi stands in front of
his 29 students, including Sakura Kayano (Mei Nagano) and tells them, “You are
now my hostages!”. From the synopsis, what do you think of the teacher? Is he a
kind of psychopath or something that he puts his students as hostages? But, the
beginning of the first scene shows something unpleasant about the teacher
later. And I cannot manage to control my heart already. π’π’π’
Let me introduce you with some casts in the drama:
Masaki Suda as Ibuki
Hiiragi
As an art teacher, he is quite eccentric in his own way. In
some scenes, it shows that he is panting one of students of him who becomes the
target of class bullying that end up committed suicide. He starts to figure out
of what happened behind it. At first, he appears someone plain in his field. It
is his second year teaching there, but he is honored to be the homeroom teacher
of the most troubled class. I don’t know if it is honor or a curse since the
previous teacher almost gives up on teaching this class. From the incident,
Hiiragi sensei tries to observe the situation by putting his 29 students as
hostages. He has prepared everything for that, including bombs, guns, anything
destructive to barricade the students from outside including well-prepared
scenario.
As an actor, I’ve seen Masaki Suda in a lot of movies and
dramas. And he is always amazing. No matter what genre, he nails all characters
given to him. He is even brilliant acting as a girl in Princess Jellyfish
movie. I think, all movies and drama he is in, it can be a guarantee that you
will enjoy them all. Enough said. πππ
Moka Kamishiraishi as
Reina Kageyama
She is the student who gets bullied in class. She is
actually popular in both her class and school since she is a prospective
swimming athlete. She wins in some competitions. Moreover, she’s cute that boys
get attracted to her. But, popularity doesn’t always come together with friends’
hospitality. It might be because of jealousy that her friends abandon her.
Bullying her seems not enough that someone or people around her want her to
disappear forever. And, she really disappears literally.
I’ve seen Moka Kamishiraishi in one drama entitled Gibo to
Musume no Blues (Stepmom and Daughter Blues). One thing I can easily recognize
from her is her chubby cheeks. She’s cute. πππ
Mei Nagano as Kayano
Sakura
Kayano might be the only best friend Reina ever has before
Kaho Usami. Starting from being a fan, Sakura starts to get close to Reina. She
doesn’t care if her friends don’t like her making friend with Reina. She always
stands up for Reina until Reina asks her to go away.
No comments about Mei Nagano. She’s a talented actress that
make me envious since she plays with many ikemens including Takeru Satoh in Hanbun, Aoi. Lol. But I just hope
that she will ‘graduate’ to be a high school student in her movies/ dramas
since she’s got great acting. But, well, she’s cute to even act as a junior
student. πππ
Rina Kawaei as Kaho
Usami
She used to be Reina’s best friend but then she ruins all.
She’s full of herself being a close of Reina, the athlete celebrity that she
makes use of it to ger her own popularity. Until then, Reina leaves her and
turns to Kayano. Serve her right. But, she has a secret dealing with Reina’s
committed suicide.
As an actress, Rina has played in many dramas and movies,
but I only recognize her in Ajin, as a female Ajin. Probably her hair style and
her tiny figure among many giant Ajins make her distinguished. πππ
Seiichi Tanabe as
Yamato Takechi
I’ve never seen such a narcissistic teacher like him. As a
teacher, Yamato sensei also writes book. The moment when Hiiragi sensei
barricades the students gives him a chance to stand out and promote his books.
His acting is both annoying and hilarious. His presence proves that this drama
genre is comedy. At first, after watching the trailer, there is no way that the
drama has comedy genre, but after watching 4 episodes, I ensure you that funny
scenes would make you laugh out loud in the middle of students’ misery.
I recognize Seiichi Tanabe when he played in Dear Sister. I
didn’t like him since he was the first love of the female lead, Satomi
Ishihara. While in that drama, I ship Satomi and Takanori Iwata. πππ. Well, it
shows that his acting is brilliant since I could have that emotion.
Kippei Shiina as
Makoto Gunji
He is the detective who feels challenged to solve the hostage
case by Hiiragi sensei. He keeps wondering what on earth is Hiiragi sensei
doing all of this. He seems to cooperate later but how far will he do that?
Wakaranai… :D I know that he is a senior
actor, but frankly speaking, I don’t watch him in any movies/ dramas I have
watched so far. Gomen…πππ
The students involved
in the bullying
Actually, the bullying is done by the students in Reina’s
class, but so far, only few characters mentioned. They are:
Kaito Mifune as Ren
Nakao
He is the first hostage ‘released’ by Hiiragi sensei. There
must be something special about him.
Fuju Kamio as Kakeru
Makabe
Kakeru used to be swimming athlete, too before he got an
accident that made hims top from swimming. He later becomes Reina’s manager.
Fuju Kamio is really cute with his big eyes. I think he looks like combination
of Yuta Tamamori and Shuhei Nomura. IMHO πππ
Jin Suzuki as Kaito
Satomi
Kaito is the accused of video tapping Reina taking drug
before swimming competition. But, it was edited. He’s the one who shoots the
video, and the rest is done by mysterious gang who might have grudge towards
Reina.
Ryota Katayose as
Hayato Kai
He is known as a delinquent in his school, but who would
have thought that he has his personal family problem that he keeps by himself? His
family problems lead him to Reina’s suicide. I know Ryota Katayose when I
watched Ani ni Aisaresugite Komattemasu (My Brother Loves Me Too Much). I
didn’t like the dorama nor the movie, though. Brother complex seems weird to
me. And his role in Prince of Legend suits him fine even though the plot is a
little bit cringe. Acting as someone poor in this drama doesn’t suit him at
all. π
π
π
Imho.
Mio Imada as Yuzuki Suwa
She seems to hold the key of Reina's suicide. The suicide here probably turns to be murder. What is her role in this incident? What motive does she do that? I know Mio Imada the first time when she played in Boys Over Flowers Season 2. HJer role there was as a spoiled brat who got jealous of Otto Edogawa (Hana Sugisaki). She could nail her character there quite well.

Well, I think those casts I’ve written have their quite
important role to the story line. But, there might be more students involved.
I’ve watched episode 4 so far, and the story is still possible to elaborate
more. What would be Hiiragi sensei’s motives on doing this besides revealing
the truth about one’s his reat Teacher Onizuka. The storyline is quite similar:
rebellious students with various family backgrounds. And the teacher tried to
solve the problems one by one. But this drama gives more thrills in the scenes
as well as comedy. In one side, I cannot stand looking at Hiiragi sensei bear
his burden alone, but on the other side I don’t want to end the series sooner. So,
give me more of Hiiragi sensei, eh, Masaki Suda, please! Onegai!
