Synopsis

Ibuki Arakuni is a high school student who is far from a model student. He has a childhood friend, Akabane Honeko, who attends the same high school as Ibuki Arakuni.
One day, a yakuza boss appears in front of Ibuki Arakuni and tells him that Akabane Honeko is his secret daughter. Due to conflicts within the yakuza, Akabane Honeko’s life is in danger. A bounty of 10 billion yen has been offered to the person who kills her. The yakuza boss asks Ibuki Arakuni to protect his daughter without her knowing. Ibuki Arakuni becomes Akabane Honeko’s bodyguard and struggles to protect her.

I've been curious about the movie since I watched the trailer. I didn't read the manga, though. I started reading it for a few chapters but then I thought I would just wait for the movie.

The manga was based on Nigatsu Matsamitsu. It's serialized in Kodansha's Shonen manga magazine from September 2022 to November 2024. Tha manga collected in twelve tankobon volumes.

Some casts are prominent casts that I never thought that a great actress like Tsuchiya Tao would join the cast. And the character? It's so hilarious. I think she was the one who stole the whole show with the costume and her eccentric act. Here, I give you a bit spoiler. Tsuchiya as Masachika is a step sister of Akabane. She's got brain and martial art skills but she thought she never got attention from her father. His attention was full for Akabane. Meanwhile Akabane never knew about the existence of her father. No wonder that Masachika was eager to eliminate Akabane.

At glance, when I saw Akabane's classmates, I thought some of them looked too old for high schoolers not to mention Ibuki himself. His towering and gorgeous look didn't really match his nervousness being close to Akabane. And the plot twist was that everyone in the class was her bodyguard with their unique specialty and skills. Since it's a fun mix of action with humor, school life, friendship and a bit romance. Don't mind with the violence and blood dripping in the movie. It is both fun and hilarious. Akabane is pretty, ibuki is gorgeous, and Masachika is the star of the show.
