Who still watches this kind of triangle love story that the
ending can be predicted from the beginning? Not to mention with the typical
kind of otaku guy with a popular yet sick beauty? Well, I can say, it’s like a
guilty pleasure for me. It’s kind of watch then forget soon. Lol.
Hikaru Tsutsui is an otaku of anime and video games. His
world is divided between school and fantasy of anime he loves watching. He
doesn’t exist in his school. He is invisible to anyone in his school but to his
otaku friend, Yuto Ito. Yuto even has a weirder performance with extra ears
sticking on his head. Well, I think that’s true that an otaku makes friend with
another otaku and create their own world together. And they are happy forever.
LOL.
The typical figure of an otaku :D |
The good looking brat who bullies |
The story is not complete when there is no antagonist who
bullies the otaku. Mitsuya Takanashi is kind of figure who actually notices
Tsutsui but in negative ways. One day, he orders Tsutsui to replace him to
clean the pool. Who would have thought that Tsutsui’s life would change after
that?
In the pool, he meets a beauty, Iroha Ikarashi. This popular
girl is every guy’s dreams to make her as a girlfriend, including Mitsuya. But
the luck goes to Tsutsui to be proposed as Iroha’s boyfriend. Whaattt?!!! So,
minna-san. It’s just OK to propose your dream guy as your boyfriend, even in
the public. There are so many scenes in other Jmovies showing this.
The beauty who proposes the otaku. |
What about Tsutsui? Would he accept Iroha’s proposal? For
all this time, he only knows girls in 2 dimension, his animation. Never have
thought he gets a 3D girlfriend in his life. Assuming this is just a prank, he
accepets her offer. The proposal would end soon and Tsuitsui would go back to
his own world, 2D.
The girl should be a great partner for an otaku if she’s not
sick. It just reminds me of Closest Love to Heaven (Kyo no Kira-kun) with the
popular guy who suffered from lethal sickness who dated an unpopular girl.
Therefore, you can predict the next plot: the sick would die or leave the
partner and asked him to forget her.
The manga cover |
The duration of the movie is too long for me with such
typical plot. The camera keeps zooming on Tsutsui’s confused look as he was
proposed, then miserable look since the girl would never stop asking him out,
plus another otaku girl who falls for Tsutsui. Well, it seems that to become an
otaku has many benefits, though. Otaku might be a magnet for popular girls to
approach, and leave later, or fall for later. Do you want to be one? LOL. I can
say I am one of a kind with otaku speaking about Japanese drama and movies.
If you are fans of Hayato Sano, or Ayami Nakajo or other
casts here, this movie is for you. But if you need deeper plot, this one is
quite disappointing. I’d prefer deeper plot with characters looking for their
identity, or deeper friendship, not merely teen romance. The comedy is quite
light with some super dramatic comical scenes. Oh yeah, if you have watched the
anime or read the manga, you can try to compare. I did try to read the manga,
but it seems that shoujo manga is not really my thing if it is pure teen
romance with some stuttering otaku and sick characters.I don't read the manga, but when I was looking for the cover of the manga, I found some hot scenes. Let me spoil you, you cannot find those scenes in the movie. Well, now I want to read the manga 😂😂😂😂
