Well, actually I watched the movie version some time ago.
But, I just cannot compare the movie version and the drama version. I can say
that the different versions have their own pluses and minuses. The first plus
of the movie because it’s a movie. It took only more or less 2 hour-watching.
The dramatic parts didn’t take place as many as the drama. And from the
character played as Mayu Taneda, I prefer Mao Inoue. She suits really well as
someone active, cheerful, a bit careless, straight-forward, sporty, rebellious,
etc. And as Takuma, Masaki Okada also suits well as someone sick, desperate,
fragile, etc. Compared to Shuhei Nomura, he doesn’t really look sick as I saw
his big muscle on his shoulders when he was half naked. But, my subjective
preference goes to Shuhei Nomura. I don’t know how many times saying how ikemen
he is. LOL. Don’t get me wrong by thinking that Masaki Okada is not an ikemen.
Well, HE SURE IS. But, I just can’t take my off Shuhei Nomura. LOL.

I just re-watched the movie version, only to get the vibe
while writing this short review. Well, basically, the drama has the same story
line as the movie. The plot, the characters, and the anti-climax. For the
movie, since I read the story line telling about someone who suffered from
heart disease and tried to survive with someone he loves. I know already that
this is gonna be a heart breaking movie. I prepared myself for what tragedy
would come at the end of the movie. So, when everybody said that the ending is
tragic, teary, and heart-rendering, I couldn’t agree more. But, I didn’t feel
so emotional with the movie as much as the drama.

From the beginning, once again, I prepared myself with any
tragedy plus the dramatic scenes. I love how the drama started with the school
ceremony where Mayu Taneda would surprisingly address Takuma by shouting.
“BAKA, TAKUMA” in front of the opening ceremony for new students. By doing so,
her senior, Kou Suzuya fell for her. And this Kou senpai would eternally be
Takuma’s rival in love as well as his love cupid with Mayu.
The senpai chasing his love for Hime |
The journey of Mayu-Takuma’s love, as always, got ups and
downs. With Kou senpai has his rival, like it or not, Takuma realized that his
love for Mayu is endless. From Mayu’s side, there is another rival in love to
get Takuma’s love, Teru-chan. As in
other romance dramas, the formula is almost similar: fall in love, deny the
love, sacrifice for love, then give in in love. Those ups and downs made me so
emotional. During the day while I was watching the drama, I kept on saying,
Baka Takuma! to Takuma every time he denied his love for Mayu. Thanks God that
the drama only has 7 episodes that I don’t need to swear Baka Takuma! until the
rest of the drama. Lol.
Hmmm... look at Takuma's muscle. I'll be rest in piece in his arm. lol. |
Kiss...kiss... kiss...... |
Well, I won’t say much about the drama. I just want to say
that I did enjoy watching the drama, the story line is neat, the characters
have enough parts to support Mayu and Takuma’s love, even the side characters
like Mayu’s best friends and Takuma’s best friend have their own part. Kou
senpai, at the beginning, performed as antagonist, willing to steal Mayu from
Takuma’s side, but then only to realize that Mayu’s love is so strong that he
cannot make her move to his side.
Oh, I made an assumption while watching the final episode
(sorry if it’s a bit spoiler) that Kou is willing to sacrifice for Takuma by
giving his heart to him so that his heart would continue beating next to Mayu’s
heart. But I was wrong, and I’m glad that I was wrong. Apparently, Kou remained
as a senpai for his juniors until the end. Lol.
Hmmm… as the last note, I should warn you who want to watch
the drama, you should prepare a roll of tissue. Find a place where you can
enjoy the drama by yourself. Don’t watch it in the middle of doing other things
(like I did, and I couldn’t get the whole emotion from the drama. And I
regretted it 😡). If you have watched the movie version, and
liked it, and you think you don’t want to see other versions of Takuma and
Mayu, just drop it. Shuhei Nomura and Sakurai Hinako performed as similar but
bit different of the movie version. Trust me. Just put off your imagination
about Masaki Okada as Takuma, and Mao Inoue as Mayu. They interpreted their
characters on their own.
Note:
Even though I said it earlier that Shuhei Nomura as Takuma,
but I just can’t see him as someone sick. I prefer Takumi Kitamura as Takuma. His
calm personality can represent someone incurably sick. Well, what do you think,
minna?
Can someone tell me what happens to takuma at the last eps ?
ReplyDeleteOne thing I like from the drama compared to the movie is the ending. It doesn't give a definite closing for what happened to Takuma. We can believe that he survived and the last scene was after the surgery.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, if we follow the ending of the movie, it may be that Takuma did not survived. But for me, I believe that's not the case since during the last episode, it has more positive sides than negative so I think it is the other way around.
Above all, both the movie and drama will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Should you have tissues ready because it will make you cry and as well as feel the romance.
