(Currently Watching) Drama November 2019 Part 2
There are times when I don't feel like watching any ongoing
drama. And this time, I'm binge watching several drama I'm looking forward to
their updates every week. As I wrote down in my previous post, I got 3 on going
drama I've been watching. And here is another list of some more of ongoing
drama. Oh my.... ππ
1.
Janus no Kagami (The Mirror of Janus)
Actually, I don't have any expectations to
this drama. Since this drama is based on a manga by Miyawaki Akiko, I once
tried to read the manga. But I couldn't find the online manga anywhere. So,
just enjoy the drama.

The story revolves around Ozawa Hiromi
(Sakurai Hinako), a high school student who lives together with her strict
grandmother. Due to her late mother who committed suicide, Hiromi suffers from
domestic violence by her own grandmother. Her grandmother doesn't want anything
that happened to Hiromi's late mother happens to her. No wonder, her grandma
deprives her freedom. All she knows is just follow the rules set by her
grandma, and gets punishment every time she breaks the rules.
The punishment has been given to Hiromi
since she was child. That's why, she has the feeling of depressed but at the
same time, the feeling of wanting to rebel. One day, Hiromi is isolated inside
a room. All she finds is a worn make up desk with mirror and a half filled
perfume bottle. As soon as she smells the aroma of the perfume, she faints.
When she wakes up, she turns to be someone opposite her character. Her new
character's name is Yumi.
Hiromi vs Yumi. Who will win? |
I watched a Japanese movie some time ago
with almost similar theme, a mental disorder called schizophrenia. The title is
Tokyo Boy (2008) with Maki Horikita as the main character. The theme of
schizophrenia in drama or movie was popular around 3 or 4 years ago, especially
for Asian drama lovers. Remember Kdrama entitled Hyde, Jekyll and Me (2015) by
Hyun Bin and Kill Me, Heal Me (2015) by Ji Sung? Western movies discussed about
this kind of severe mental disorder too. Check out The 12 Best SchizophreniaMovies of All Time. I don't know when the mangaka wrote the story. However, the
topic never gets old to be put in drama/movies.
I never thought that Sakurai Hinako gets
this difficult role since, as far as I assume, she is not the best actress for
me, compared to Suzu Hirose, but I'm glad that she nails her double roles very
well. One thing I feel curious is the scars her grandma makes every time she
breaks the rules. The multiple stick snatch would leave scars, right? However,
I don't see them when she turns to be Yumi.
Overall, I'll be looking forward to the end of the
story. Kdrama always has happy ending. I wonder with this Jdrama π€
2.
You and I on The G String (G-senjou no Anata to
Watashi)
Similar to the previous drama I mentioned,
this drama is also based on manga by Ryou Ikuemi published by Shuueisha. I also
tried to read the manga online, but I couldn't find it anywhere. And once
again, let's enjoy Taishi Nakagawa, ups, the drama π☺️

What would you do if you quit from your job
for the sake of getting married, but in the end, your fiancΓ© has an affair?
That's what happens to Yaeko Kogure. This 27-year-old woman tries to calm her
mind by walking down the mall, bringing a bouquet of flowers. There, she is
captivated by the sound of violin playing Air by Bach. She's not the only one
who was put under the violin spell. There are Rihito Kase, a college student
and Yukie Kitagawa, a mother of two children.
With their own personal reasons, they decide
to join violin class. They meet together in a class with Kusumi Rei as their
violin teacher. Having the class together, they automatically get closer to one
another. Yaeko spills her heart breaking experience, Rihito with his unrequited
love, and Yukie with her strict mother in law. The three students in violin
class who come from different background and have quite different age gap start
to get along. There will be romance here. I assume it will be between Rihito
and Yaeko, romance that I oppose. LOL. Why? Well, personal opinion. I don’t
really like Haru personally. It seems that she doesn’t improve in her acting.
Once I watched her in Survival Wedding for the sake of watching Ryo Yoshizawa.
But then I dropped it since I cannot stand with her. Sorry for Haru’s fans
anywhere. But don’t worry, it seems that she performs a bit different this
time. Unfortunately, she has that typical role, someone ready to get married
but has a broken heart at the end. Then, why should I watch this drama? FYI, I
watch this drama since I love classical music and of course there is Baby
Taishi there for God’s sake. LOL.
Well, wish me luck with the ongoing drama I’ve been binge watching. Wish that you can consider my recommendation of what to watch in your list.
Ja. Mata ashita…ππ
