I was literally jumping out of my bed as soon as I knew that there would be season 2 for my favorite 2022 BL drama (it was around midnight when I couldn't sleep that night :D) I knew it from Sho Nishigaki's Instagram account (that I followed). Few days later, the trailer was launched. However, my high expectation for the continuation of the lovey dovey couple Minato - Shin was dropping slowly from watching the trailer.

The story of this season 2 started 3 months after they confessed their feeling by the beach, the beach where Shin was broken but then turned out the beach was their eternal witness for their love. Aw aw aw..... If you are an avid audience of BL drama or at least Japanese romance, it's quite common to continue the confession to bed....

As I said before, my expectation was dropping as soon as I watched the trailer since Minato was still acting as Minato from season 1; getting shy, jumpy and nervous from Shin's affection, keeping pushing Shin away everytime he tried to kiss Minato, you name it. The response that was cute in season 1 was all repeated until  more than half season. At times, Minato would show some affection towards Shin like holding his hand, but well, that's all. The confession made by Shin was not reciprocated properly by Minato. Minato san, ore no koto suki desu ka? Hmmm... I even could recite this sentence over and over again by myself.

Meanwhile, the other couple in this drama, Asuka and Shu kun, had more development. Shu who used to be stoic and didn't show whether he had the same feeling as Asuka, gradually grew more affectionate towards Asuka. Thanks to Asuka's friend who asked him to be her fake boyfriend.  Well, afraid of being left alone seemed to make Shu realize his feeling to Asuka. You rock, Asuka 👍👍👍

Many audience complained about the same Minato who didn't change from season 1, similar to Hira in My Beautiful Man season 2 who didn't grow much either. Speaking about Minato, I somehow understand his position who was about 30 and dated a teenager who just graduated from high school.  What would the public say if they found out about their relationship? The one who was to blame of course went to Minato, the older one. That's why I can see he hesitated sometimes about his feeling to Shin. But, Shin was consensual enough to have this relationship. When the situation required them to live together, my dirty mind had high expectations that there would be something happening. But, the author kept that something until the last episode.  However, as the episodes grew, I admit that Minato finally had a slight development, urged by this and that situation. Confessing his relationship with Shin to his former teacher (who happened to be his first love) was kind of relieving. One step after another to be different Minato. Yet, it's too slooowwww 🙄🙄🙄

Overall, I'm happy that it's finally finished. Some people commented that they would welcome to have another season with one condition, change the script writer. LOL LOL LOL. Yup, I don't mind seeing Minato - Shin in another season, with different conflict. For example, Minato's continuous struggling to show off their relationship to others and Shin's parents approval could be another issue. Cherry Magic movie had this issue, but maybe with different approach.
