(QR) #Jmovie if Love Disappears From The World

Original title: Konya Sekai Kara Kono Koi ga Kietemo

(今夜、世界からこの恋が消えても)

   The Plot

In order to stop his classmates from bullying him, the protagonist, Kamiya Tooru, makes a false confession to a girl in his class, Hino Maori. Even though she knows that the confession is a lie, Maori says yes with the three rules: "Don't talk to me until after school," "Keep communication brief," and "Don't fall in love with each other". The two promise not to fall in love, but as they get to know each other, they find themselves drawn to each other. When Tooru finally couldn't hold back his feelings, Maori's words were unexpected.

"I have an anterograde amnesia, and I forget things when I sleep at night. Everything that's happened in a day". Her memories and experiences were reset every day, and she wrote down the day's events in a diary and woke up early in the morning to review them in order to keep her memory alive. Tooru is devoted to bringing her as much happiness as possible. However, such daily life did not last long. What is the "plan" that Tooru has devised to protect Maori's happiness? The raging climax and the fragile tenderness will wrap the world in warm tears once again.

The movie was based on a novel with the same title by Misaki Ichijo. The novel was released in February 20, 2020.

I’ve never thought that I would enjoy watching the movie. Furthermore, I was heavily in tears in the last 25 minutes. The first time reading the synopsis, I thought it has some similarities to Isshuukan friend (One Week Friend). But then I found that they are different. In Isshukan Friend, the female lead had an amnesia after a week, similar to that, the female lead in this movie had an amnesia, but after one night sleep. Or sometimes worse, after she had a short nap.

Some movies are really worth looking forward to, but sometimes, some of them end up nothing special for me. But this one, was really giving me a shock for how hard I cried and the after effect in the next morning. I felt that my eyes were swollen, either because of crying or hard to get asleep. LOL.

The two male leads did an amazing job by showing that they cared for each other without putting any lovey dovey. But after some time, they couldn't hide that they feel comfortable around each other. The background of the female lead, how she could get the amnesia was told in a few scenes (well, if you read the synopsis of the movie before watching, I guess you don't really need it). While the background of the male lead, even though withou it, it didn't really change the whole story, was a kind of sloght info why he could have such traits.

As stated in the synopsis, the male lead confessing to the female was to bail out someone from bullying. However, I don't see any bullying whatsoever. The ones who bullied might get disappointed seeing what they expected happened smoothly and then they stopped bullying.

If you happened to watch Kieta Hatsukoi, and intentionally shipped Aoki and Hashimoto, but they didn't end up together, you may feel happy watching this movie. Happy? Well, frankly, this is not a happy ending story like most romance movies, but this movie would give you some warmth, bitterness, happiness, and emptiness towards the end. I was really angry to the author why she should have this kind of ending.

Last but not least, I'm glad I finally watch this movie. It's been a long time I don't cry that hard while watching a movie/ drama.

Honorable mention, I wanted to see this movie not only want to see Michieda Shunsuke and Fukumoto Riko, but more I want to see Sho Nishigaki, the class leader in Kieta Hatsukoi. i was wondering what role he would get. but then I found that he was the one who bullied. LOL. Well, at least I get to see him in a different role :D

My rating:

Story: 10/10

Acting/ Casts: 10/10

Music: 8/10

Re-watch value: 8/10
