I just suddenly stumbled on this drama after I watched the trailer. I don't know much about the story and the casts, yet, the story of time travel is always exciting, not to mention the mixture of present and past technology and mystery involved.

Yuka Sekiguchi is just a reguler staff working at a real estate company. She often does things her bossy senior order her to do even trivial and silly things. It seems that he's obsessed by her who is too kind. He oftentimes asks her out but never gets his luck 😅😅😅

One day, Yuka's grandma is terribly ill. She asks her to take over her house and tells her that there is a hidden closet which seems to have a secret. Due to her curiosity, she goes looking for it. She never knows that the hidden closet is a portal that will bring her to Edo era.

Yuka never dreams of slipping into time and meeting people in Edo era. Not only that, she meets a gorgeous but incapable policeman, Ukai Denzaburo who asks her help for a murder case. Minamichi police station got a mysterious murder that involves an illegal export / import medicine. Ukai has some suspects, but he's not really good at reasoning. Yuka accidentally witnesses the place where police did the evacuation. And there is some reason that Ukai knows that Yuka is capable in reasoning. And here goes the main story.

Yuka is called as Oyu (I forgot how she is called that way) and started to get back and forth from present to past only to help Ukai. She needs to get back to present time since she has to check on some evidence: finger prints, blood spilled, poison in rice balls, etc. Doing so, she needs to consult with her best friend, Udagawa who works in a laboratory. From him, Yuka gets confirmation about the finger prints, poison used in murder, and some other things she needs in Edo era. The problem is how she explained to Ukai that the particular suspects are the mastermind of the case if she doesn't want to reveal how she gets the proofs.

There should be a slight romance, or I can say a love triangle among Yuka-Ukai-Udagawa. Unfortunately the duration and the number of episodes are not enough to discuss about that. Frankly, I want to see that in the drama. How do you compare guys from Edo era to present time? Some audience might ship Yuka and Ukai, but I want to see Yuka and Udagawa badly. I love how Udagawa helps Yuka without any intention. He might see Yuka differently after he finds out that Yuka might fall for someone and not for him. What he knows all this time, Yuka has been with him since a long time and she never has someone special. Hmmmm...talking about love between best friends might hurt. Does it?

Oftentimes, I feel a bit annoyed to Ukai who asked Yuka about this and that. Who is the policeman here? I wonder how he never finds out about Yuka hiding something from him? No wonder, he can never find the suspect without Yuka helping him. One thing I like from Ukai is he is a real samurai. He might have done harakiri if Yuka didn't do anything for him. Aaarrgghh... So many things I feel annoyed about him. Sometimes, I feel like I were Udagawa that would stop her going to time travel. However, what can he do?

The story of Jikuu Tantei Oyu is quite engaging to me. Compared to Ashi Girl, I failed finishing watching the drama since I got annoyed with the girl (I forgot her name). Actually, Ashi girl can be my watch list since it has Kentaro Ito as the main cast, but I just can't bear with the girl. Enough said. Mixing between the old and advanced technology to reveal the mastermind of a case is very interesting. I expect to see Yuka accidentally shows something weird to people in Edo era, unfortunately it didn't happen 😔 Even when it is close fo her to show off mobil phone, she could manage to hide it.

As I told you before, I didn't know about the story and the casts. Speaking about the casts, I'm only familiar with Yui Sakuma after watching Brave Father Online the other day. I don't know why her slight figure in the movie caught my attention. I think she can be a promising actress in the future. Her face reminds me of Kaho (when she is in the present time with her short hair) and Nana Seino with her long fake hair in traditional attire. For Takezai Terunosuke as Ukai, I thought I didn't remember watching him somewhere. But his figure reminds me of Hiroshi Tamaki Hahahaha 🤣  Kai Shouma as Udagawa looks a bit different compared to his role in drama entitled Switched. As  someone working in laboratory, Udagawa looks messy and needs enough sleep. He doesn't really look nerd with his glasses, but well, okay. I just wonder how Udagawa feels broken heart, how he expresses it. Actually, I expect to see him walking together with Yuka in Edo Era and see if he can find someone to replace Yuka in his heart. 😂😂😂

Overall, this drama is quite entertaining as well as intriguing. Usually, you would see some heart breaking moments when it comes to time travel story. Remember The Girl Who Leaps through Years, but this one, you wouldn't . There should be second season to make clear of the romance among Yuka-Ukai-Udagawa, and see if Yuka should choose to let the past as it is or she could change the past that might affect the present time. Looking forward to next season, then.
