(Jmovie Review) This Child Is Evil (2022)

The Plot:

Hana, the daughter of psychotherapy director Kubo Shiro, suffered a traffic accident with her mother and sister, leaving her legs badly hurt, her mother in a vegetative state, and her sister suffering from a severe burn on her face. Yotsui Jun, a high school student, appears in front of Hana, he is investigating the cause of her mother's loss of mind. Hana gradually communicates with Jun, but one day Shiro suddenly returns home with her mother who has awakened from her vegetative state after 5 years. Shiro rejoices at the family reunion after a long time, saying, "A miracle has happened," but Hana feels uncomfortable. "She's not my mom." (Mydramalist)

Honestly, I was fooled by its title and its poster. From the title, I thought that there would be a child who was an evil to the family. And from the poster, I thought they were a family, and one of them was the evil. Well, I was wrong. If only the title introduced is The Good Father, I wouldn't have had misunderstandings or had such assumptions.

Once, a long time ago, I learnt a little about psychotherapy. I saw my seniors do some hypnosis to my friends, but so far, what they did was just made them into sleep state. Nothing more. Once, I was offered to be put under their hypnosis, but I refused. As far as I remember hypnosis, or suggestions would not work if the other partner refused to accept. I don't know how strong Kubo Shiro who could switch people's souls with other souls. And he did it for the sake of his happy family.

Goosebumps started when the psychotherapist spelled the years backward, returning the clients to their first state and then filled their soul with another one. One side, he looked like a hero preventing someone from harm, especially those who suffered from domestic violence. But is it fair to put those into that state?

I agree that he loved his family so much that he didn't want to lose it. However, as a doctor, he already broke some ethics. But who would complain if his clients turned into 🐇🐇? Just wait for someone who could reveal his true colors.

It's been a while I don't watch thriller movies, and this one really gave my goose bumps. When the doctor rang the bell, showing that he started his hypnosis, I was on my seat suddenly shouted to my phone asking the character in the movie to get away from him. LOL. Hiroshi Tamaki did a wonderful job as a doctor. The sound of bell would not feel the same now, for me. 

I just regretted to see the end of the movie. How could the writer put such an end to a severe crime? Well, the message was there, but still, I couldn't agree with the ending. 😑😑😑
